I have only read a Judge Dredd comic once and the trip to the cinema to watch the Sly version was miserable as the super-cop himself.

The originals fucking dope. This shit looks like some B grade garbage. Stalone nailed it.

Original was wack, only the robot was memorable.

A friend of mine saw a preview of this. He's a huge fan of the comic books. These were his words:

this film is unbelievably awesome; seriously I loved 2000AD as a kid. The original film was another example of hollywood pissing in my face. 2000AD had amazing stories; they are unremittingly bleak, violent and the good guys often lost.. this film actually captures what the comic was all about.

this is one of the best action films I've seen in ages; anyone else caught this yet?

I was meant to catch it last week but bailed as I was fucked. I need to see it though, lots of fans have said its brutal.
